Shipping & Live Arrival

Carefully scheduled from Idaho

Live fish are never treated like ordinary merchandise.

We may delay shipment when weather, holidays, carrier conditions, or the fish’s condition make travel unsafe. A safe arrival matters more than keeping an arbitrary ship date.

How shipping works

From reservation to arrival

We review conditions

We check weather, carrier timing, destination, and the fish’s readiness.

We confirm the window

Orders ship only on agreed weekdays for a weekday arrival.

We pack for the trip

Packaging is matched to the species, fish size, season, and destination.

You receive promptly

An adult should bring the package indoors immediately after delivery or pickup.

Weather holds

Animal welfare comes first. A weather hold does not cancel the order; the fish remains reserved until an acceptable shipping window is available. We may require pickup at an approved carrier facility during temperature extremes.

Secure packaging

Fish are packed in clean, secure bags with appropriate water and oxygen, absorbent material, insulation, cushioning, and temperature support when needed. Packaging and service may vary by species, size, season, and destination.

When your fish arrives

The first few minutes matter

1

Bring it indoors

Move the package out of heat or cold immediately.

2

Document concerns

Photograph the unopened box and bag if anything appears wrong.

3

Follow acclimation

Use the included instructions and contact us promptly about severe distress.

Carrier-ready safeguards

Built around next-day live-fish travel

Every shipment is reviewed individually. These standards follow current UPS live-animal requirements and our own animal-welfare checks.

Next-day service

Fish ship only with a UPS service that guarantees delivery the next day. We do not tender live-fish packages on Fridays or immediately before a carrier holiday.

Secure primary bags

Each fish is packed in strong bags at least 4 mil thick and double-bagged, with approximately one-third water and the remaining space filled with oxygen.

New insulated box

We use a new, strong corrugated outer carton, insulation, absorbent material, cushioning, and secure dunnage selected for the fish, route, and season.

Clearly identified

The carton is marked for live fish on opposing sides. UPS cannot deliver to a P.O. box, so checkout requires a complete deliverable street address.

Weather safety: We review origin, transit-hub, and destination conditions before release. A shipment may be held or redirected to an approved staffed carrier facility when safe travel cannot be supported.
